In BEIJING the 18th International AIDS Conference Will Take Place in Vienna

In BEIJING the 18th International AIDS Conference will take place in Vienna, Austria. About 25,000 delegates from around the world will discuss the current situation of AIDS as well as preventive measures to fight the pandemic. Furthermore, last Tuesday the White House released the National HIV/AIDS Strategy. We’ll be kicking off the U.S. Government’s activities in Vienna with a special session about the Strategy.

With the promise of coming AIDS vaccines, former President Clinton urged nations Monday not to give up on funding to prevent a calamity.

Less than a week after President Barack Obama introduced a new national HIV and AIDS strategy, the International AIDS Conference began in Vienna. UNAIDS Executive Director Michele Sidibe unveiled Treatment 2.0, an initiative that will try to bring down the cost of life-saving medicines, make drug regimens less complicated and simplify the process of HIV treatment.
